NO ONE'S WATCHING CAPTURE!!!

Did anyone ever think that Hunger Games   would inspire the finest reality show to hit us with raw guts, nerves, stamina, energy, stealth, mind-games and simply bowl us over every week with some new twist in recent times. I have no words, adverbs, adjectives or synonyms for this Awesomeness called CAPTURE!!!The rules of the game are pretty simple. There is a 4,000-acre wilderness area called the Arena, in which 12 teams participate in hunts to eliminate other teams for a $250,000 grand prize. From this simple premises we get a crazy intense show.
The Hunt is On
If you are an Indian, you will be able to identify the format with our very old Chor-Police (Thief-Cop) game, where one Hunt team tries to catch the other Prey teams in this huge wilderness over varied terrain in four hours over two days each and the result is cliffhanger reality show at its best. Some hunts literally going down to final seconds with just a minute to spare with one team bearing down on the other. The Hunt team has talons, which they have to attach on the vest of the Prey team to capture them, so breathe easy guys no one gets killed!!!
The Pink Team trying to evade capture - Spot the Survivor! She was Season 1 Survivor Finalist
There are some other rules too, but I would request everyone to watch it. Its a fairly simple game but the show producers have put in incredible thought on how to make every episode interesting and twisted. Just when you think the show would probably drag the next week, they introduce something new in every episode to keep the concept fresh and exciting week after week. I love watching Reality shows. To me, The Amazing Race, Survivor and the UK Apprentice are the best reality shows on tube. Capture joins that list with flying colours.
Incredible Moments of Emotion!
Full marks even to the people for choosing the teams identified by their colours. Each one of them is just perfect and belongs to a particular group. The divide seems all the more strong for every viewer, when they watch as they can identify with each one of them a little closely, feeling as if they are playing the game. The Amazing race used to make us feel the same way, but Capture is way more gutsy and intense. Be it the sneaky Lime Bro-sis Sibling team or the stealthy tiny Teal twins or the atheletic green afro-american college roommates or the hunky handsome red Gays or the black Prom Queen Blonde and Brunnete together or the Gold Good Brothers  or the Grey Mixed martial artist couples. Its just a perfect cast!!!Wish they had a geek  Cochran team so that I could cheer them on. And its amazing how all these teams use survival startegies unique to their mindset and physical disposition to adapt to this game.  How the teal twins, inspite of being tiny and somewhat weak compared to the other teams battle the elements with stealth and their knowledge of the terrain along with their keen sense of smell and sight; how the grey team uses their mixed martial artist experience to measure 3 minutes, which was the time they used for sparring rounds to stay off the radar off the hunt team along with hilarious moments also...when the Black team for their irressisitible desire to have some alcohol prove to be their undoing or even a puny Lime team sabotaging a very strong team and showing them the proverbial finger at the elimination phase for their bullying with the final vote.... the results are just reality show at it's very best.

Elimination Ceremony
Once I had finished watching Capture the full season, I really felt if we have reality shows with such drama, fun and excitement, who needs movies? This is way more compelling than anything else. Give Capture a shot!!!! You won't be disappointed. This is probably the best new Reality Show, which probably no one's watched yet!

NO ONE'S WATCHED DO NO HARM!!

Jason Cole with his love
The cancelled Do No Harm, which was better than many prime time shows, yet NBC pulled the plug without letting the story develop. Poor ratings by the third episode was enough to doom this Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde modern take. Love, duty, envy, passion collides, when two men fight for the possession dearest to them both-one man's singular consciousness in a body. It is a wily game of wits between a good surgeon's patient intelligence and an evil man's persistent cunning!!! Who wins? That's what the show is all about and it delivers splendidly.
 Mr Casanova - Ian Price
If you want to be enagaged in one of the most twist a turn shows of all times, give DNH a watch. A brilliant surgeon Jason Cole by day and a notorious damaged demented sick man Ian Price by night. Do No Harm pulled all shots to deliver a rivetting story, which kept me glued till the final credits of the series finale rolled over. Every week, the see-saw battle between good and evil played out and the choices a man had to make to keep his sanity and his friends and his family together when he is his greatest enemy was just shocking entertainment at its very best.An added bonus were the surgeries shown with amazing detail and aplomb.Sharp like a scalpel- each one of them!
The heart-breaking final episode
When finally it ended I felt a tear creeping down slowly by the corners of my eyes and I nearly screamed - it just couldn't finish this way!!If NBC feels like giving a show a second shot, then Do No Harm is the prime candidate for the position. I would rather go for the awesome final episode as a cliffhanger than a closure!! Don't miss 13 episodes of crackling entertainment.

NO ONE'S WATCHING DR BLAKE MYSTERIES!

 Dr Blake and Cast
Doctor Lucien Blake is not exactly Retro No1wty. Its just a season old, but I am sure everyone's missed this armchair sleuthing at its very best Australian show. Its about an army medical doctor in a quiet Australian township, who takes over his late father's pratice and doubles as a forensic pratitioner for the small police force there. Perfect art direction, excellent performances by the lead cast and some catchy snatchy whodunnits set the mood for this somewhat old fashioned delectable piece of crime detection.
Dr Blake and Jean Beazly - Will sparks fly in Season 2?
I am positively crazy about this show.If someone gives me Sherlock and Doctor Blake, I would settle for the latter anytime.  My rationale - He's humane, makes mistakes,he is all blood and flesh and he is a best new chardonay in town, while Holmes is too perfect for words and he has been around for quite some time. Sometimes I just get lost in the pace of Sherlock, while Dr Blake is a cool hot slow sip of the finest coffee- tea in a late mellow evening. Its a caffeinish delight sprinkled with a little Darjeeling!!! Heavenly Brew!!!
One of the best Dr Blake Mysteries - Bedlam
Sherlock may be the best detective serial on tube, but it still can't be the character Jeremy Brett or Ellie Norwood or Basil Rathbone sculpted to perfection. Dr Blake on the other hand is exactly what the doctor ordered, if you want your detective served with hansoms and deerstalkers. You won't get the London cobbled streets or the cute murder over cosy tea parties here, but this show is closer to David Suchet's Hercule Poirot or Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes or even Lord Peter Wimsey. Therefore I am recommending this show, because of it's old world feel and Dr Blake's incomparable charisma and the wonderful characters surrounding him. Its a swell beautiful ride worth a gallop through a tiny township full of fascinating characters and interesting stories.
Jean Beazley, Constable Parker and Nurse Mattie
I can talk a lot more but I would advise everyone to watch it. This is the show, which you can watch with your Dad and Mom and enjoy, without needing to explain what happened five minutes back.It also has some quaintly drawn characters within the Blake household with a humourous sexual tension potrayed between  Blake and Jean Beazley, his receptionist and housekeeper along with two more characters Constable Daniel Parks and Nurse Mattie forming a kind of a family. Its laid back, simple, a tad imperfect but wonderful. Its like reading a book not watching TV.
 Dr Blake examining a body
I am sure many haven't watched Doctor Blake yet!!!! You have no idea what you are missing!!!!!Keep the apple away and get addicted to the doctor immediately today.

What's NO1WTY?

Without much ado, I would like to present my new blog no1wty. What does it stand for? Simple. No one's watched this yet. With the advent of so much TV traffic and some amazing showstoppers like Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Dexter, House of Cards, Newsroom etc and some regulars likes Criminal Minds, CSI, 90210, One Tree Hill etc and some highly publicised debut shows like Ray Donovan, Sleepy Hollow, Hostages, Hannibal etc....some pretty good shows are falling by the wayside. I am not saying people ain't watching the ones, which I will be talking about here. However some pretty good serials are going un-noticed. This blog is all about those shows. I am not going to talk much in my blog. I will essentially give a feel about what the show is all about. Why I like it and why should you watch it? Is it good enough for you to let go off one episode of Homeland? Thats what this blog is all about.

I will also concentrate on music videos and movies, which people may have missed.

Enough of blabbering, let the shows, movies and music begin. One more thing. If you want to watch a show or a movie customized to your tastes, drop me an email on guttu1978@gmail.com with your preferences. I will get back to you with an appropriate show for your couch potato tongue.
